21) Transforming Apartments in Detroit into "Communities of Hope" (Part 1)

This video is the first part of a two part series exploring the success of Communities of Hope - an organization that, without ever receiving a single grant, was able to completely turn around several neighborhoods, including Gardenview Estates in Detroit. In Gardenview Estates, Communities of Hope was able to work with local non-profits, the property management company, students, private companies, and faith-based organizations, among others, to promote its four Pillars of Hope - healthy living, better education, financial literacy and stronger families. This video provides an excellent introduction to the initiative, and provides several examples of programs successfully organized by Communities of Hope and its partners to improve life for the residents of Gardenview Estates.
